Question: From Time to time I hear theories on how blockchains

like ETH could become a DAG State Channel and Subsequently solve many of it's Scalability issues. In this scenario, wouldn't ETH have to drastically change it's current core concensus mechanism and hard fork in order to integrate and be compatible with the hypergraph? Just trying to picture how this would work in real time? THX

you are correct in that DAG doesn't fix ETH as ETH possesses its own consensus algorithm and execution environment in the form of the EVM. the entire architecture is already established. now what the hypergraph could do is extend the capabilities of ETH by offloading costly and complex smart contract logic into a layer 0 state channel. basically you can think of it as a similar way to solve some of eths problems that L2 networks provide, however, some core differences would be that the state channel behaves like an oracle and creates a universal interface to interact with other cross-chain assets from other networks that have also interfaced with the hypergraph

Thank you very much for your valuable insight. Makes much more sense now. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if one day some desperate ETH core Devs Decided it would be Existentially Necessary for them the Self Cannibalize the Entire ETH Protocol into a DAG State Channel. Afterall, I do remember Vitalik Getting So Desperate years ago that he was trying to Figure out a way to Offload ETH Bloat onto Bcash Somehow. And we all know that none of its upcoming upgrades will allow it to scale to any significant degree.

Thank you very much for your valuable insight. Mak...

I think Bitcoin becomes a state channel even before eth does
