Are DOR miner rewards based on the amount of data

a single DOR miner takes in, or is it based on the total amount of date from all dived by the number of DOR miners? I know the owner of a small business locally, but they don't have a ton of foot traffic as it is a specialty business. Thank you.

So there is a chance that the miner could collect a limited amount of data, and if no one wants that data then there could be very little rewards?

While yes, it is possible, it’s not about the quantity but the quality of the data. Greater foot traffic does not equal greater rewards. For example, there may be thousands of people walking in and out of a public toilet, but if nobody wants that info then the data won’t worth much. There will be an ever-increasing list of bounties that DTM owners should aim to get. You may choose to collect public toilet data anyways hoping/knowing that one day a bounty will be listed for it and your historical data suddenly will worth a lot. Or you can put a DTM on the Tiangong Space Station checking how many astronauts floating through their airlocks. You probably won’t get much foot traffic (here I’m hoping floating through traffic also counts), but I’d imagine that data would worth a lot for some nations.

There will be many opportunities to earn from DTMs. Most likely lucrative way would be to chase bounties (ie. outside party comes to Constellation and says we want foot traffic from these specific stores or types of stores, then you place and earn bounties. Since you own that data, if you can connect with other people who are also looking for that data, you can sell it to other parties. Another possible stream would be to have the store owner pay you for their specific foot traffic data. Michael Brand says they get about $100 / month in revenue from store owners for their data (original Dor machines - pre-constellation). So if you have a store that may not appear to be a lucrative location, you will get baseline rewards plus perhaps a monthly fee from the store owner to get their own data (could be $100/month). Bottom line is that you own the data, so get creative and figure out how to monetize it.
