ago and there were approx 4766 shards registered at the time of the window closing. This was slowing losing one or two shards every so often and to my surprise when checking now, there are suddenly 4833 shards locked in. How is this possible?
I’m pretty sure, especially as I have been watching the shard count drop since it closed. Maybe someone else in the community can advise what figure they saw at close?
I just got an update from the team - this months Soft Node Program ended with 4890 Nodes which can also be seen on Github here: https://github.com/Constellation-Labs/tessellation/commit/a3045866d61fb368161e5d7d4edb917b7bcb4eca In General the dev team only adds nodes manually if they got invalidated due to an error of the system (e.g. a shard gets invalidated even though the DAG address still meets the minimum requirement).
Thanks Criptix. I checked at my end and I got the figure of 4766 approx 2 hours after the window had closed. The shard number could have been higher before that time but it remained low for 3 days which added to the confusion. 4890 to 4766 seems like a big jump in 2 hours 🤷
Gotcha - i double confirmed this with the dev! Will hold an eye open for next month just in case though ;)
I noticed, that was the figure of 4766 as well as you did once window closed. 🙈😂
I thought I got it wrong once I just checked it last couple of hours... Then got someone asked in the group already
This might be actually the explanation - the shard count doesn't refresh if you are not refreshing the page itself. So if you visited the page a few hours before the enrollment closed and didn't refresh the page it will still show you the same node count. @Dagtastic I will ask if we can change that somehow in one of the next updates :)
