Is Iotex using sharding database? How scalable is iotex?
hey there, we don't use sharding. You can check these out - answers by Raullen himself + some articles 1) Community forum - https://community.iotex.io/t/layer-1-sharding-pros-vs-cons/325/4 2) https://t.me/IoTeXGroup/270487 3) https://onboard.iotex.io/platform/blockchain 4) more on tps: »How many TPS (transactions per second) IoTeX has a complex architecture which is designed to scale and not aimed to have a fixed TPS. The Blockchains-in-Blockchain structure (one root chain and many sub chains, each one of those subchains can host different devices/use-cases and can have very different configurations, including different TPS and even different consensus mechanisms) helps to achieve the auto-scalable goal. IoTeX aims to reach several thousands TPS on average on each sub-chain. In general, we can say that that the more the IoTeX network grows (i.e. more subchains get added) the more the overall TPS grows. This design allows for the massive scaling of the blockchain against the requirements of billions of IoT devices also with characteristics that are very diverse. Thank you mate, this is what I looking for. 👍
