Fees on transactions are utilized as more rewards to validator nodes. So as the network gets more traffic validator nodes will receive more rewards.

As for token burning... That would have to happen with a governance vote. I think in a lot of ways this could be a good idea for the long term of the network. Having some sort of elastic tokenomics would fit well with infinite scalability.
