I talked to Ron about a grant application a while back, but that isn't my department. I don't know if they have or have not.

What happened to the projects which were given Grant before you came like Kalend, KadenaNames etc?

Most failed...for the same reasons I outlined above. No business plan, no path to profitability, etc.

So think about it, throw a bunch of money at something because "community" and then they fail. That's not good for the community, the project, or us.

are there any plans to attract good Devs with solid Utility projects who do not rely on Kadena grant, but VCs fund them instead

We recently re-launched Kadena Academy as the first step in a strategy to make Pact easier to understand and so we can have some resources for new developers to begin to understand the system. This is a 10 part series that has had over 200 users sign up already. Considering that's multiple times hire than the signups for the old Academy, we consider that a win. We're working on ToDoMVC content repositories now to providing libraries of content in solidity, rust, typescript, etc. There is an entire ecosystem concept that would potentially come after this where we can connect Pact devs to projects that need help. So instead of Amir doing everything, we can build an army of Amir's that can help much more than a single person can. We've continued to push our Pact and Technical forums on Discord with support for those folks. The docs site is constantly being updated, so when we are able to bring more experienced devs here, they have the resourses they need to be successfull. I agree we do need more devs, tons more devs. We're working on these fundamentals I outlined above to do just that. Once those are in place, we can start to push harder. The grant program hasn't gone anywhere, just becasue a couple of projects don't get supported, that doesn't mean things there have changed. Again, we have another community project you all know and love that got a grant just yesterday.
