50 is not accurate, that's for 20 chains. Average tps per chain is between 2 and 5 for transfers and swaps
So this is not true? https://t.me/kadena_io/578477
We did some internal testing and 50 TPS per chain is an accurate number 👇 https://x.com/kadena_io/status/1767668798213996740
Its simple, 1 block has a gaslimit of 180.000. A swap is around 4500 gas on ecko, a transfer around 800. That's 40 swaps per block, or 1.3 per second as a blocktime is 30 seconds. For transfers it's 225 per block, or 7.5 tps.
Would love to know the testing parameters
I already asked a few months ago on discord, @CarlParker_KDA never did get back with this.
Indeed… On 4/8 I sent that inquiry to Lars, our Principal Engineer (for those that don’t know) When I came on board there was a sporadic amount of references to TPS, including old Kuro and felt we needed to solidify what is really possible. Especially since Marketing was going to be updating infographics at the time. So I started a convo with Lars to discuss and advised that we needed to identify a legitimate metric we can reference. That led to the 50 tps reference we now use. I was told this was achieved in a testing environment and as for parameters I am unsure those details. But that he was totally comfortable with 50. Lars got back to me later in the month after that inquiry on 4/8 and apologized that he has not been able to get to the inquiry as he has been tied up with a lot of things from ZK stuff to a lot of other things. He also is the one I was working on Chainweb series with and that has not continued because he has been extremely tied up as of late… I need to follow up with him on both the TPS and article series. I’ll do that today and report back
Would be nice, because I have linx users complaining their transaction takes to long while we have amazing tps and blame it on the wallet lol Would be nice if an official article could educate people. I know its not marketing friendly, but these discussions happen regularly, for the sake of 'transparency matters'

Totally understand and that was why I shared the original reason for my inquiry to internal team as I didn’t just want us putting out things. That convo was signed off with Weigley as well. This also played into the whole scalable aspects of Chainweb too for series. I know there’s a few things upcoming and whether that was based off of that or not, I’m not sure. But apart of that discussion was acknowledging many projects like to mislead those #s and as you brought up, different types of TXs can vary things too. And the # I was looking for was something we can be conservative with, yet be justifiable I’ll look at it today for sure and see what type of update or potential ETA I can get
just circling back on this one... I have already reached out to look at bringing better awareness for the testing of the 50 TPS per chain. Will report back when I can.
