In 2014 ProtonMail (now called Proton Mail) were almost driven out of business when PayPal blocked crowdfunding payments to ProtonMail while their email service were still in beta phase, with PayPal questening the legality of their encrypted email service. PayPal lifted the block within 24 hours. This is something Proton will never forget. For this reason Proton started accepting decentralized payments in form of Bitcoin. Today Proton have more than 100 million users across various services, including email and VPN. Who does Sentinel think told PayPal to block payments to ProtonMail in 2014? It's time to stop being naive.
