@Margaritapaws Do we know if the team is planning a

way to mitigate the congestion/cross-shard issue for the RIDE launch? It would be awfully unfair for it to lock out a large portion of users in the opening stages of the launch.

Okay. If that's the case and if everyone went and made spare shard 0/2 wallets, wouldn't that then just bring congestion over to those shards (albeit no front-running)

It’s definitely a half-assed work around as opposed to a fix. Hopefully they fix the issue instead of forcing people to use multiple wallets to participate fairly.

It’ll be a large disappointment to many if they don’t fix the shard 1 issues prior to any future launches including RIDE

They won't be able to fix the issue until multisharding smart contracts are live. Until the the dex is bootstrapping, so there does need to be some level of forgiveness in that it's not a fully fledged product. However, until then - there does need to be a short term hotfix.

Then they shouldn’t launch new projects until then. Otherwise you will continue to see mad FUD at each launch, and fairly so because who wouldn’t get upset when they can’t interact with the system on the same terms as everyone else, which taints the view of this platform to any new investor.

That's why I'm suggesting a hotfix, like throttling the transactions 33/33/33 or something across shards. Create some parity somehow. Them launching nothing would be equally as damaging as the repeat of congestion events.

I can respect this, but think it would be very dynamic and dependent on congestion levels which change frequently and in real time, so it may be very hard to implement

Right, me too, but we, unlike many others, are aware of the work around. That workaround should be posted on Twitter and in announcement here if they don’t find solutions prior to next launch.

Just playing devils advocate here. But since all SC calls, as well as the dex, are made to shard 1, would the wallets on shard 0 or 2 really see that much of an impact from users migrating? I mean, its shard 1 that is doing all the processing... No?
