Same as any ponzi, which will work until more money gets out than gets in. In a world where you can borrow at significantly lower rates paying 18% for borrowing seems counterintuitive. In order for some people to receive interest said interest needs to come from other people. Suppose the discussion about what the "value" of something is quickly gets into semantics, but I've yet to see how any of this can work unless someone buys, and keeps buying, ANC for money. Especially considering Anchor's own chest is filled with something they've created themselves.

You just described the world banking system The moment governments stop the influx of cash, banks go bankrupt. It’s pretty much the same in crypto, anchor or any other protocol: you create more “utilities” to attract more people and get more funds on your platform.

Yes, pretty much how I've been looking at it. Although I don't think we can actually entirely honestly compare Anchor to a bank. But in principle, sure.
