Does anyone know how NFTs are valued? What's the guarantee

that someone else will purchase your NFT and you will make a profit?

The NFT itself may have intrinsic value if it represents something with value, for example our Liquidity pool token EGLD/MEX LP is an NFT. Other examples I could see that have use is like House deed, Medical documents, Certificates and tickets. But most NFTs on the marketplace have speculative value because the community gives it value, sort of like pokemon cards, there is no liquidity, however collectors community love them and want to collect them. If the NFT communities are strong enough and you believe they will stick around for ages, they may be good investment opportunities. Some NFT projects have incentives to keep holding the NFT, for example yield bearing NFTs, hold "X" NFT to receive "Y" Tokens that may or may not do well, and may or may not have good uses.
