Is UST on Nexo ERC20 token or native Terra token? Also,

are U.S investors eligible for this if we purchase UST and send to UST at 20% APY?

UST can definitely be wrapped to ERC20, it is quite popular on several chains (things like the Abra degenbox has been a huge success because of the 100%+ APY on UST). That being said Nexo always supports the native version of the asset, so they will almost certainly add a way to deposit and withdraw UST natively on the Terra Blockchain.

word+ wasn't sure if it could be wrapped or not. but in an ideal world, deposit and withdraw on native terra chain would be ideal+++

that's a good question. I'm not even sure UST can be wrapped as a erc20. pretty sure it's only on terra chain right now. so I'm guessing either you need to buy UST directly on Nexo, or maybe you will be able to deposit on terra chain to nexo if you bought elsewhere, my guess will be you might need to buy the UST on Nexo.
