They already can do that.
The smart contracts of the maiar exchange just cannot do that yet because they have to adapt them to work that way

I cant answer you that, of course, but Beni always said that they want to go the legal way. Which is why they acquired Utrust and Twispay and now own two E-Money licenses, which are valid through the entire european union. No legal processes are stopping them now (afaik) from offering ANY digital assets and even their own stablecoins

Decentralized Exchanges work through Web3 technology. They don't have any of your data until you log into them.
If you were to make a seperate app, you would need to log into that app using the Maiar App somehow and I am not a Android Dev in any way but i know that it is NOT easy to make app-to-app communication.
Furthermore, it would be a ton of work to embed the DEX into the Maiar App or making a seperate app.
For what? EGLD wouldnt gain more users just because of that specific feature?
It's a TON of work, really, a TON of work, and they already have to work on many other, more important things

As I said, we don't know the progress for them. Having things in the roadmap doesn't mean nothing. Lending and synthetics was in Q4 2021 and it's now Q4 2022. Phase 4 was meant to be in Q4 2021, not it'll maybe happen in Q2 2022 end. Those are things the team is delaying for some reasons, for phase 4 the first reason was testing slashing, they started testing it 1 year ago. There are probably some problems with the protocol they are trying to solve.
