it is not traded anywhere except the Maiar exchange? When the exchange went live I converted all my Egld to mex and then staked it. Now I am watching it hit new lows and wondering how that is determined? Is money leaving the exchange? People cashing out their mex?

Thanks for the try Costi, but that describes something I understand, Liquidity Pools. What I don't understand is Mex value and especially Lkmex value. If mex is an exchange coin is its value determined by the amount of Egld (publicly traded on many exchanges) then when the price goes down to 1/3 of its value does that show us that that much value in mex has been swapped out of the exchange? Or the transaction level on the exchange has dropped by that much? Or....???
Pricing in AMMs is determined by one thing only, the # of token (EGLD in our case) in the pool/ # of token (MEX in our case) in the pool. Every swap performed increases the supply of one of the tokens and decreases the other, thus changing the price.
So the base price is determined by how much is locked up in Egld/mex pool and then the rewards (interest) is determined by the volume of transactions on the exchange?
and then the rewards (interest) is determined by the volume of transactions on the exchange the trading volume on the respective pair. Besides LP fees, some specific pools enable liquidity providers to earn additional revenue via farming & metastaking.
