So say like digital was saying main net is out n 5000 possible nodes competing for the two first onboarded. Where do rewards come from. Totally understand that. Question is: is there a process to see who gets to validate for them first

I have just quite a while ago skimmed thru it again. I just don’t see ig what I’m asking. Or my question didn’t get asked rite? Let me try again. Do foundational nodes onboarded already or test nodes about to be onboarded have first dibs? Since clearly 5000 potential new nodes would clearly not be needed for say first two coins/companies that are onboarded. Apologies if it’s in there n I missed it.

I have just quite a while ago skimmed thru it agai...

The first important goal is going to be network stability and health. Currently testnet nodes are a sandbox for state channels. The thing is: collateral isn't required to be on testnet (thus far). My estimation? There will be a cluster of nodes to help establish mainnet 2.0 stability. No idea to the criteria for what nodes are selected (but this would be a short term deal). That said, I am thinking once the network is functioning in the manner devs want--the remaining node ops will onboard in relatively smooth, quick succession. Why do i say this? Because as Tim O demonstrated today, spinning up a node is relatively simple. It won't take long for everyone who wants to join mainnet 2.0 once devs clear it. Soft nodes will continue to roll as we onboard nodes. So those w collateral won't be left behind where passive inflows are concerned. Lastly: we need state channels (SC) onboarded so that nodes have transactions to notarize. We cannot flip a switch and in one swoop get SCs and nodes going same day. Rolling sort of thing here versus instant.

Really prefer NOT to say selection as it sends wrong message to community. There will be a small group of nodes to make sure network is healthy--short time. Again, this will be a short-term deal. No idea the criteria of which nodes. Could it be the foundation nodes? Could be. Could it be testnet? Could be. Could it be a lottery? Could be The devs will let us know when we get close. I realize everyone is super excited to get rollin'. Hang in there. We want everyone to walk through those HGTP gates as a community.
