Well, it is almost certainly due to bad security practices on the customer’s end. It is highly unlikely that Nexo’s systems were breached in this specific case.

not saying that's the case here, I can't see the details to determine what happened, just a hypothetical situation where it the 2FA wasn't triggered and the 72 hour delay was bypassed I'm sure nexo wouldn't leave the customer on the hook for the loss.

Yeah, if something like that happened at scale they would have to cover the loss. Something similar happened to CDC not too long ago and they covered it.
