understand is how team manage to get stolen funds back. Attacker is still not known, how funds gotten back if identity of the attacker still not known and team did not reach to attacker ? any one understand that ? @SeverMM any idea?
i guess they used the same function / vulnerability to 'steal' back the egld.
Would be good to get an official response. I dont want to Speculate or guess what happened
They did write in their article that "the attacker agreed to send other funds back" They HAD TO HAVE some sort of connection/contact to the attacker but they didn't know who it was!
And dan said they can't get into much details on that topic https://twitter.com/ClassicMain/status/1535612009756098560?t=IE5Y7OqmdMQx_L-NbxvRDA&s=19
they said 'give 1 egld and we give 3 back' )))
And then they pranked the attacker
Wonder how did they convinced him, regardless great job from the team. Btw how much funds left in the foundation ? 200k egld is still alot, i do recall it was 500k before the attack but i am not certain. It would be good to put those eglds back in the foundation with time.
As far as i know the elrond foundation has a "reserve fund" that is allocated for special future needs and should not be touched unless definitely necessary and it contains.. i dont know exactly i would have to check the tokenomics but it's more than 10% as far as i remember So 200k is a lot but to the reserve it's just a dent
I wonder if they sent message transactions to his wallet.
