DVPN nodes being restricted to receiving payment in the form of DVPN tokens. subscription creators can receive payment in the form of any currency however their payments to nodes should be made in the form of DVPN only - is a potential tokeneconomic point.
This would require the subscription creators to purchase DVPN from the profits they make on up-selling community node service and pay nodes in DVPN
At the same time nodes will create a sell pressure as they will have to cover costs from this payment so is there a net positive benefit?
Any views from the community?
is it possible to add daily or weekly subscription? 🤔
From dVPN “investor” point of view, how would payments in different tokens affect the take rate mechanism? I guess that if the payment to Node can be proceed in DVPN only, the take rate process is clear. However what if the payments would be in different tokens? In case of subscriptions I guess user will pay in whatever currency but the nodes will be paid in dVPN, so the take rate is still applicable here. Am I correct? Sorry if I am a bit confused.
Sound good however, will the outcome be positive when less subscription owners buy or bought in the past (long term views when creating whitelabel) or the continues selling of 1000+ node owners (short term) that need to cover costs
I think the best way we work is with an authenticated list like a curated list that gets followed up of around 100 nodes spread across the continents and have a seal of approval from the 'sentinel community' as high reliable an trustable nodes. and then the rest be up to free market. So users wanting to have a reliable node don't have to check out each nodes individual rating an the tinfoil hat still has the option to pick an alternative node
Agree, Can be a list of top 100 Nodes by rating, speed, other criteria which will be updated frequently, the nodes could have a symbol or something like "Trusted" across white labels
