one of my past wallet addresses, do I need to consolidate everything to the 'newest' wallet address or will yoroi do that automatically?
A new address is created for each transaction
Consider this scenario. I have groups of people who like to send me ADA. So, I sent my receiving address to that group. In the interim, I keep doing other transactions with other groups of people and keep generating new addresses. So my question is, how would Yoroi sort out all the different payments to all the old and new addresses from all the different groups?
I might have a partial answer to this. The multiple addresses you made are all derived from your public key. You can make many many many addresses from this public key. Yoroi (I think) created these addresses for you and knows your public key, so it is able to keep track of each address that is yours because they all derive from your public key. You can’t know a public key by looking at and address. But if something or someone (like Yoroi) knows your public key, they know your address.
Thank you. Yes, the issue is that I have a *lot* of wallets (generated from my private key) with funds in them. Some have very small balances, others have large balances. So, when I want to pay a particular amount, will Yoroi keep track of all the derived wallet addresses and consolidate all my different balances into a new address on the next transaction?
all the addresses yoroi creates for you belong to the 12 seed words of that wallet. all directions are valid
The specific issue is that after a few hundred transactions, i can notice slowdown or other anomalies. I wanna know if there will be some optimization for UTXO consolidation, or even an option to optimize for transaction fees by minimizing data, etc. I was gonna write up a small portion modelled after a few other wallets, but it proved to be more challenging. haha
