full-node Daedalus? Certainly it's a service to the community to run a full node wallet.

I thought so, too, at first, but it turns out, the work the Daedalus full nodes to does not contribute to the network. They only connect to IOHK nodes and only get blocks from them and submit transactions to them. They do not contribute to network connectivity (would not help much, since they are not connected 24/7, anyway) and for checking transactions, it's only important, what the block producers do.
