Hey guys, does anyone know when exactly is a new

balance applied while staking? For example, let's say I've been staking 10 ADA for a while and then deposit 10 more to my wallet. Are those 10 additional ADAs going to be counted in the next epoch or next epoch + 1?

For determining the block production in an epoch, the snapshot of stakes one epoch before its start is used and the rewards are paid one epoch after its end. So, any change – switch to a new stake pool, new balance, … – will have an effect on rewards 15 to 20 days later.

got it, thanks. Yeah, I was wondering if it works the same way as if you enabled staking for the first time

Yes, it is. The reason is exactly the same … that the snapshot at the next epoch boundary takes effect at the beginning of next epoch plus 1 and the rewards are paid at the end of next epoch plus 2.It will also be the same, when you want to stop staking or move to another wallet. If the rewards are high enough, the recommendation is to first move your funds (except for a couple of ADA for transaction fees and minimal outputs), but wait three epochs for the last rewards and only then unregister your stake key and transfer the last rewards and the deposit to the new wallet.
