certain amount of ada gets locked with them. Is it getting unlocked when you sell?
Native tokens have to be accompanied by ADA. So, they do not really lock ADA that already were in your wallet, but they *come* with ADA (which are then more or less locked to them). And if you send them away, you will – again – have to send ADA with them. You can partly unlock ADA, by putting more native tokens on the same UTxO (sending them to yourself in a single transaction), because one output with several native tokens requires less accompanying ADA than all the tokens in separate transactions.
As I understand it, when I buy some tokens, their price already includes that ADA bound to them? So, for example, each token_name has like 0.01 ADA locked into it, right?
And, yes, services selling or giving away tokens tend to request you to send an appropriate higher amount upfront to cover this.
so, essentially, some amount of my ADA is still getting locked, even though indirectly :)
You are right. 😁
