There are no wallets of higher risk than wallets you need to restore with seed phrases. Make triple sure you use the proper Eternl wallet url, see #wallets

For a list of wallets, kindly visit this link

So if this is a risk, how can I trust the Eternl wallet?

This is a question best directed to the Eternl team, I don't have knowledge how they protect the seed, it is an excellent community wallet, so I am sure it is protected, but I have not investigated how

Make sure you are using the correct website for Etrnl wallet….and NEVER share your seed words with anyone…..you can restore your Yoroi wallet in Nami, Typhon, Etrln…just make sure you are visiting the “real” website for that wallet

I find that way more confusing/misleading than the answer of @ChrisSTR8. 🤷 In order to use a wallet app, you have to share the seed phrase with it and make an exception to the “Never share the seed phrase with anybody!” rule. And the only reason, why that is okay, that you, me or anybody can give, is: “Trust them, bro!” Strangely, that is somehow good enough for the more prominent wallet apps.

Question was: “How can I trust Eternl.” Your answer was: “Make sure to use their website.” Don't know why the original asking person was happy with that answer. It's not answering the question in my book. Truth is: We cannot verify if Yoroi, Eternl, Typhon, Nami, … really do what they are supposed to do, if they use a secure enough symmetric algorithm to encrypt with the spending password, if they don't transmit secrets to their servers, … At some point, we have to trust the developers/deployers of those wallet apps.

“Not answering the question in my book”….it was his question, and he understood my answer….anything else?…😅

When I mentioned something about Charles being invited somewhere recently, thinking it was amazing. I felt like you wanted to shut that down, prove it wasn't that great etc. Even though I was just expressing my personal feelings. The guy that @pesuazo answered found his answer clear and was satisfied with it. Most end users don't want to know the technical details about something, which is why Chris response was confusing. Maybe a review form or something, where everyone can leave a star rating.. that's something end users would follow. How do I know it's safe? Because all those people seem happy with it. Maybe diving deeper in this setting just becomes confusing

To that Charles thing: I was just responding to you commenting on all the other guys being not there. And even if not: Are my personal feelings that he is okay, but not that great something that is not allowed to be expressed? To the wallet apps: I regularly recommend the usual ones with exactly that reasoning: We are all happy with them. Seems okayish to use them. But if I'm asked directly, I think it is irresponsible to *not* give the details of what happens and where possible risks could be. We see people losing there funds every effing day. Most often, because they fell for some scam, but sometimes it also looks suspiciously like malware accessing the stored secrets of wallet apps. They seldomly come back and complain: “…, but you said it's safe!!!” But I think we should not even give them a reason to.

This is along the lines of my response to Charles the other day…we still have a lot of people coming in without much knowledge (coming with many questions that may appear repetitive to us)….we must continue to answer in a simple, easy to understand manner…we must not assume their level of knowledge is similar to ours…sometimes feels tedious…but their hunger for knowledge must be satisfied with information they can easily digest

I can totally sign that one. It's what I'm trying to do every day. So, this disagreement just boils down to: Should we just tell them that the usual wallet apps are safe or give the honest answer that we just assume them to be safe, because it works for most of us?

Yep…I assume Yoroi is safe, I assume Eternl, Nami, Daedalus and Typhon are safe (as long as long as I don’t share my seed words)…
