As I understand it, Arkefi is focused on fine art. Though I imagine that if gold were a part of a piece of fine art, it would definitely be something Artbanx would be interested in. @BankoleArkefi do you have any comments on this?
This was raised during the AMA session last week, but Mads said it wasn't available for now
Sorry to chip in, if I can remember the collectibles, I think Diamond was added if I'm not mistaken.
Guess we’d have to wait a while, the beautiful thing is the fact that it’s art, which means it covers a variety of items
That's major, but gold is universal
True, but since it’s yet to come, let’s make use of the ones available
Sure we'll do, just need to know why it wasn't selected
Hey guys, Sorry for the late response, and thank you for your interesting question. You're correct that Arkefi is primarily focused on fractionalizing fine art and collectibles. While gold is a valuable and often revered material, it is a liquid asset, meaning it's easily converted into cash or other assets without losing its value. Because of this liquidity, gold doesn't quite align with Arkefi's goal of democratizing access to illiquid, high-value assets like fine art and rare collectibles. However, if gold were incorporated into a piece of fine art, that could certainly be a different conversation. In such a case, the artwork as a whole—incorporating gold—could potentially be tokenized and offered for fractional ownership on Arkefi's platform (theoretically) I hope that clears things up. 🙏
I get it well Bankole. So it's just Artwork and collectibles that Arkefi is focused in tokenizing right?
This is correct, fren 👌
To an extent this has helped 🙏 Thanks for clarifying this
