Government wants your money and to tax, but you give them creditability when they say we want to protect investors from scams and r*gs etc. they really want to take the anonymity away and tax but give them the political Firepower and support from the 95% who don’t know what crypto does when they say we want to protect investors and regulator players. Each time a scam works or a r*g happens they strengthen that argument and get a step closer to regulation. It’s gives politicians an easy out without having to say we want your money. And truthful where there are sooo many scams people won’t disagree. Even mark Cuban came out and said it after he got r*gaged so just gave them fire power to regulate.

You are missing what I’m saying. It’s crap to me and you bc we are in the space. But to the people Who make up most of the voting population (bc most people don’t know crypto or who It works- they just hear headlines) hear we want to protect investors it strengthens their argument. If there were no scams and not public or small on scale they would have to come out and say we want to tax more and even people in crypto would say no. But people give them protect people argument bc tons of people are stupid and fall for stuff.
