when I make a new wallet and link my nano ledger. Would the nano ledger stop what happened? I assume it would as you need to enter and approve to send funds, and looking at the trx history the tokens went from pancakeswap to my wallet and immediately went out to the 3rd party wallet

yes, mate. You might have approved the scam token/contract many months/years ago and the scammer could just modified a function and now drained your funds If this happened is because the smart contract has been approved by you There is already a malicious contract lurking in your wallet that you have approved from other platforms like the phishing 708 contract. what it does is wait for your wallet to have some CAKE, once it detected that, it will automatically initiate the malicious instructions to auto send your CAKE to the exploiters address. No matter where you swap tokens for CAKE. as for Pancakeswap, its the largest DEx for swapping, thus they thought its from Pancakeswap when its NOT. check your Wallet token approvals of the contracts with auto spending of your tokens like CAKE. you can also track it with the malicious transfer hash via bscscan, match those contracts with the ones youve approved and revoke. Most victims have something in common ( they have multiple approval in single wallet).
