And it would make the process of testing and development much more easier. But I see always a lot of resistance when I suggest things that make life easier. There was a discussion on the mailing list "how to get new user".
It is a "feature" to create a software that is as dependant from other software as possible? Sorry I have another programing style. I try to be as independant as possible.
I don't quite understand what you're talking about right now. If you are talking about portable user software, then this is almost completely possible only on Windows. Nix systems still use certain packages that differ in different distributions and clones. If you are unhappy that Lazarus did not submit the source code in the form of archives for distribution, then this is the essence of his ideology. By building lazarus using different versions of the compiler and different frameworks, we get a programming environment with different capabilities and a different UI. If your dissatisfaction is caused by an unwillingness to delve into the intricacies of building an IDE, I can recommend using CodeTyphon
I am talking about userfriendlyness! I use Lazarus already and would like to test/install the newest version in a most easy way. My development computer has no internet access. I work with Linux since many years. Yes, there are different Linux systems out there. You may can not cover every system, but most systems are close to Debian, which I use.
I guess you can help by donating money and specifying common need for deployment server(in o.w autocompilation of release candidates, etc)
I don't understand what the lecture has to do with my case
To use the "latest" versions of lazarus, you will still have to use the internet. Even if they are portable builds. You are confusing semantically similar, but actually different concepts. Moreover, you are using debian, where the user's first actions after logging in are to set a magic string in the terminal: $ sudo apt update 😊 Look towards CodeTyphon, where the author tried to collect all the junk in one place, but saved the user from having to think about how to install this Lazarus floct. The author periodically updates his builds. He distributes them in the form of an archive, inside which there is an installation script. Whatever you like.
