Dude, are you a developer or what. People deserve to make money out of their software, that's what they do for a living. You can't expect the whole programmers community to release open source softwares. How are they supposed to make money then? Out of ads or extra features? And for the record it wouldn't make much sense to release source file of a paid program.

Also just because a free basic version of an application exists, it doesn't mean the paid version is bad. And it's not like Adobe is ripping you off like EA games, $10 and that's it, you now have a cloud storage and can access all of PS features.
You could be right if it was like, ok $10 for program itself alone, now give us $5 to access extra features, another $10 to get filters, now $15 for .... etc

I don't need to, and want to know what's inside photoshop's source because it's not gonna affect me in anyway. I haven't really seen much bugs in PS and there were workarounds for almost all of them. But let's say that you face a bug in gimp, you seriously gonna spend hours to find and fix it? In my opinion open source is only good when you want to truly know what's going on inside, like how Bitcoin and their transactions work, or want to make sure that a free Instagram's third party client is safe or not, that's when I prefer open source over closed.

i'm a human like you if matters to you, you just need to know this, other details of my life has nothing to do with this topic. as probably you can see i said freedom not money free. yes people deserve to make money not because it's right but just because leaders made this shity world like this to mislead people by force of wealth. but there are many income models. the model which work just depend on money is a destructive model has negative influences on all such products. you can see some of these kind of influences in photoshop's performance and resource usage and there are lots of other issues which you can't see and nobody cares about them unless it hit the payment. instead we can make donation like incomes or any other model not directly based on money. anybody who needs or love the product and can pay will support it and pay money with love and devs will work with love because they love their products. you will not get more money for nonfree products, people just will make them free for people who can't pay. also a free open source software accepts anybody's fix and improvements even you as a user can learn and send patches. based on current world i have no other choice but accept the current model and i respect photoshop's devs and their work but i always will fight for foss as much as i can.

just common sense IMO and a good read. FOSS is not something to be taken advantage of, it's like leave-a-penny take-a-penny (American thing)... it is a party and everyone is invited, but showing up just so you can "steal the booze" is definitely not what the FOSS community is for.
