I have a general question, need some advice. Lets consider just

three languages for now: C, C++, and Java

After learning the basics,

1. If I try to understand and grasp the core language, I can do it by practicing more and more problems/code from websites like Hackerrank, etc

2. If I try to go for its learning the application for them deeply lets say, building stuff for example Android ROMs and kernels.

What will be the better approach??
Considering the limited time I have in college, from what I understand, *if I go for point 1, I will be missing point 2 and vice versa*
