Depends on what you want. A lot of window managers have configs that are really scripts executed in the same language the WM was written in. So if you don't want to write Haskell you'll give up on Xmonad for example.
I find changing the workspaces in i3 a bit difficult.
I have short hands and can't reach every keys 😑
Changing a WM won't help you at all. Most of them use the same win+number keys for this anyway. What you should do is go to config file of the WM you already use and change the keybindings as you see fit.
