in your home? Sure there is a big drop in reliability, but I guess for me this could be the best solution for my - honestly a bit special - situation.
I don't want to discuss my specific situation, I just wanted to hear your thoughts about selfhosting the server at home?
server for?
I know people who bought raspbery pi to host bots
if you got a proper connection I don't see why you shouldn't add a backup link (starlink or whatever maybe?) and a UPS and you should be good
Ok tbh I didn't meant TG Bots :D I meant for example my cloud and things like that, maybe a private gaming server ^^ Ping is good in my home most of the time. Bandwidth not so much, but I guess it would be enough to keep up with my projects ^^
wouldnt it be cheap to buy server ??
maybe just host the storage in your home but everything else on a VPS?
as long as you don't try to open a proxy or a VPN service for your friends or anyone other than you, I think it should be fine
No, nothing of that. VPN maybe for me to access my LAN, but that would be only for me of course ^^
