Question

I need to make two apps on two machines on

two different LANs think they are on a same LAN. I know I can simply use OpenVPN, but it is risky because it may expose many other unneeded ports to the client machine.

Is there any better FOSS tool for this?

I'm not sure if I am. So I prefer to expose less ports, if possible. (If I found no better alternative, I will secure everything and use OpenVPN)

I like SSH port tunneling

As it has no direct support for UDP I prefer using a VPN, if I find nothing better.

I'm always sure and I will always make sure again and again. I prefer not diving into magma, not because I didn't wear a kevlar, but because I prefer going through safer ways if exist. Why expose everything if I can avoid exposing everything?
