Question

My client requires a custom Java solution which is free

from any licensing cost.

JSON data has to be inserted into a template document and then converted to PDF.

If the JSON content overflows into next page, the first page has to be cloned with a few fields and then filled with the overflowing data.

I'm currently using MS Publisher to build a form template and export it to MS Word. Then use Apache POI to replace placeholders and replicate pages if necessary and finally convert it to PDF using xwpf.converter.pdf.PdfConverter.

Is any other approach possible? Suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance. I can't use iText as it's a paid library.
