For me svg element is like slow down page. why?

For me svg element is like slow down page. why?

because it's add lot of line code for just showing a simple icon. or may be i am wrong. no matter how long code you have, performance is not related to lines of code.

svg is vector based, it wont go woosh if you zoom, but if you have an image with lot of things going on the resulting svg will be bigger thn transparent pngs.
