at least knowing what different algorithms are used for and why is certainly useful for a software engineer in solving rather complex problems and certainly makes passing some kinds of interviews easier increasing the chance of successful employment. however, I tend to recommend the DevOps roadmap to new Go’phers because most Go jobs I’ve encountered are concentrated in this field of engineering.

What I personally miss on this otherwise beautiful roadmap is basic understanding of cryptography and symmetric & asymmetric encryption

Language does not matter if company just want to ask for algos. It can be any language. In one company I was asked to code binary search on leetcode using go.
