You should whitelist addresses for all the coins you have in the app for security purposes. And also so you have addresses defined if you need / want to withdraw.
More info on whitelisting can be found here https://support.celsius.network/hc/en-us/articles/360001901137-Why-is-my-withdrawal-address-locked-How-can-I-change-it-
Why? Isn’t it more safe if there is no whitelist address ?
No, that’s much less safe because if your account is compromised your crypto could be sent anywhere and there’d be no chance to stop it
How come ? If you enabled the whitelist address and if somehow account got compromised they need to add the whitelist address and it goes for 24 hours waiting . I am saying why not just enabled the whitelisted address option and don’t add any address over there even ours add more security
In any case, there will be a 24 hour lock and waiting period when the address will be added or changed. Key thing is to control the whitelisted address and look out for account emails / alerts.
Exactly. So I am saying why not just enabled the whitelisted address option and don’t add any address over there even ours add more security?
The current setup is a balance between security and utility. In every aspect of security and usability there is one that effects the other. This current setup is the balance that a majority of the community has shown acceptance for.
Ok. So your saying once I add the address there s no option to remove the address , the only thing I can change it ?
Once you change it the current one will delete and be replaced with the new one. You can not delete the current white listed one.
Ok so how it works that : 1.Enable the whitelist address option : Add the address Replace it when you want other address deleted You can’t leave the address blank once added initially 2. If you don’t add the address, then it will be blank , however still the whitelisted address option enabled , and if I want to add the address it goes for 24 hours waiting 3. If I don’t enabled the whitelist address option there is no waiting

You enter an address then you can or can not use it. You then change things the new address clears the existing one. You can not delete and have a blank space. No matter what with changing a withdrawal address there is a cool down process. The only way there is not is if you switch back to a previously used wallet address. This does not require the cool down.
There is no option to avoid the whitelist process. I'm not sure if that is what you're asking.
I got it now . Thanks . So basically there is no on/ off option . The whitelist address option is always On and whenever I need to withdraw I have to add the address and goes for 24 hours cool down ? As the whitelist is always on, So once I add the coin what do u recommend should I add the address or leave it blank
Once u used the address u don’t have to wait 24 hours anymore when u change back to it
I suggest always lock
Always lock as in ?
Enter a wallet address and lock (whitelist)
How do I lock whitelist ?
https://support.celsius.network/hc/en-us/articles/360001901137-Why-is-my-withdrawal-address-locked-How-can-I-change-it-
Enter a wallet address you control and then confirm it via email. It's all part of the removal process. Step 1 whitelist Step 2 remove crypto. Stop at step 1 and it's locked.
So lock means once I add the whitelist address and then confirm it and it goes for 24 hours waiting period ?
Remove = take the Crypto out of the Celsius app. It means remove
Ok remove means withdrawal ?
Thanks . And once I whitelisted the address and then I wait 24 hours and then I can withdraw my funds anytime ? Or I have to wait one more 24 hours once I withdraw initially
Read the support article I linked you, it explains it all
Once whitelisted withdrawal = generally complete within 5 hours
https://support.celsius.network/hc/en-us/articles/360001901137-Why-is-my-withdrawal-address-locked-How-can-I-change-it-
I read that After the first time a withdrawal address gets used, it also gets locked for 24 hours. Used means whitelisted or used it after whitelisted ?
Address you’ve withdrawn to after whitelisting
So I have to wait two times for 24 hours 1. At the time of whitelisting 2. And then once I withdraw/use it after whitelisting ?
No, only when setting the whitelisted address
Ok thnx . And once I whitelisted the XYX address and then replace it with another one And if I want to replace it with xyz again then no waiting right ?
Ok I didn’t make a withdrawl . And then I need to go for a 24 hours window again for the same address which I added earlier right?
If the address is currently whitelisted, there’s no 24 hour wait. If you want to change it, there is.
Not if you withdrew to it when it was previously whitelisted
