Does this: a = a[n:] remove all the elements before n? Is

it possible to restore them back? I thought I can restore them back by doing this:
a = a[:]

I'm trying to mutate a few elements of a, it is sorted.
Shift them into the first few elements, assign them into a and then restore all of them once done.

Don't reassign to a, just do b := a[n:] and leave a in case you will want to reference it later.
