Pandas: I have a time series problem , data is in

1 minute intervals, but second collumn applies rule whether row is day or night.. so ill have like, ddddddddnnnnnnnndddddddddnnnnnnnnnddddddddnnnnnnnn. d is day n for night. i want to find max of each daytime and nightime over the time series. how do i go about?
