This gives me some hope that we're not entirely screwed. Although we're talking billions of $$ under Celsius vs millions lost during bitfinex. It's several times bigger in magnitude.

Indeed but recovery can take multiple forms. Perhaps a hybrid with a mix of different methods besides the bitfinex way.

There is a chance of raising liquidity still, small but there is. To recover Celsius will have to change drastically the business model, considering they will be able to operate, and create more revenue streams. - start making serious risk management. - charge withdrawal gas after one or two withdrawals or all withdrawals. - decrease the rewards to acceptable realistic levels. And cut the reward illusion currently. - have some sort of small spread to swap.
