Mysql is filling up disk space with bin log files

Question

Mysql is filling up disk space with bin log files

and crashes after disk is full, i updated binlog_expire_logs_seconds to 60secs from 30 days (just to verify) but its not cleaning up so i added cron task to remove binlogs is it wise idea?

What do the log files say?

Its binlog file i suppose it just holds garbage from all the db queries
