Ok ty. But say I owed 100 and had 200

in collateral. Do they now owe me 100?

Or if say we end up getting 60 cents on the dollar, is my collateral now worth 120 and I owe 100, so they only owe me 20

In your example they would owe you 100 and you would get 60 back. Your loan would be forgiven since it’s essentially liquidated.
