So, it is a tradeoff. If you want to solve these problems come with new compiler, feel free to do if you have time. On the other hand, you said that it is already working with GCC 8.

I don't want to, the compiler just get updated. I use a rolling release distribution. I can set the system in order to don't update GCC but I'm afraid of the issues that can come with it.
