you have one attraction node called N1 at an point F you may end up with A-F-E which may 1.15 times worse but still good enough. Don't ask why you would have such a node. It's just a simple example.
By baking such attractors in you may be able to save a lot of worthless searching. For example if you choose bee line you could end up with an bridge over the river being in the opposite direction. So you search in the wrong direction first. Having an attraction node on the bridge can save time even if the 'around the water' solution could have been shorter.
