Tutorials + Object Oriented + std:: and these kinds of extentions to C which is horibly unnessesary.

Sticking to IDE is the worst idea making it hard... example in C (I haven't code C++ a year or so, so I cant give good example): a standard lib like : stdio.h which we: #include <stdio.h> allow us to use some functions of that library in our code such as: printf scanf vscanf vprintf and... using IDE makes you forget all theses functions after 20 minutues, first use... in long term you can't code without IDE...
