everybody discovered the Facebook patent. Three things:
1) If you're doing normal web work or create a product that doesn't quite compete with Facebook (or in any case don't suit them over patent infringement) you're perfectly fine with React.
2) React or Vue? I prefer React but everyone has his own preferences and usually choses what they like even if not the best tool for the work, that's just the way it is.
3) If you ever get into patent issues with Facebook you can just move to Preact with one line in your configuration so, again, not so big deal
1) Netflix uses React Native. If Facebook were to enter the streaming world and they copied specific patented implementations of Netflix, they would be powerless to fight against it. That said, any startup can hope to become big, and using React even with a non-competing business can be a bad decision later.
3) Preact seems to be built over React, so it doesn't seem to be entirely safe (I've not gone through the entire implementation, but at face value doesn't look safe.)
2) As a beginner I found Vue massively much friendlier and faster than React. Still yes, everyone has their own preferences.
