Pinterest is the latest popular Social Network , and is built by Python. So is instagram. Also facebook switched to Python.

Pick any language except php, it's ugly syntax, old-fashioned and limited.

Php != laravel Node !=express Python !=Django Javascript !=react Try to learn about the core features of each language first. Then check the amount of free software available, like out in the open. The amount and type of software out there will clearly show you what people are using, and for what purpose. Those two pieces of information will allow you to choose the best tool for your job

If the world is ending, and no more tools left, I would go first with PHP then ASP.NET. No matter what project I'm working on.
