my windows, and I set the path using the normal system variables settings. On CLI, the java and javac version ran so I was convinced that i was doing the right thing.
I downloaded NetBeans 8.2, it kept showing "cannot find jdk an jre" and both were installed. Restarted the system couple of times, still the same result.
I proceeded to the CLI installation of NetBeans 8.2. Extracted the bundle.jar. Now it could see my installed jdk and jre and I proceeded with the installation. I noticed one thing during this installation, it kept telling that my c:\ProgramFiles location is protected, so I eventually selected my Documents folder. After installation, NetBeans can't barely even create a new project, not to talk of running codes.
So i concluded that NetBeans 8.2 doesn't yet have support for jdk 10, so i downloaded jdk8 and changed my system variable path to point to jdk8. Tried installing NetBeans again, everything worked normally but I can't even code and new project can't be created.
Now the former installation is asking for jdk or jre to be uninstalled, but I've removed the latter installation of NetBeans8.2. What is happening please? What can i do?
Sorry bot
I could explain it... but I'm a bit busy, so this link should solve your problems https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46476470/cant-create-project-on-netbeans-8-2
Try uninstalling jdk 10...or delete the installation folder
