In winforms it is called data binding to the process by which data from the datasource (a database or an XML, for example) are transferred to properties of the controls. This type of process, nowadays, is no longer done as before. The usual thing is to follow the conventions of MVC or MVVM, or another architecture pattern. As for currency manager, I imagine that you actually refer to concurrency management, which refers to strategies to avoid data inconsistency when they are updated in a multi-user environment
