Is this a good place to hire a game developer?

Not really, there are platforms for hiring people like LinkedIn, also you can find job boards/channels for some specific technologies, based on where the people using these technologies are dwell. For example to find an UE4/5 developer it can be beneficial to post in a special channel on unreal slackers discord server. Here is a very generic chat to find someone specific, and not sure if it even allowed by the admins.
