well first of all you're asking in a java group so don't expect unbiased opinions :) but generally, as someone who has worked with both of them i would say no because laravel (not php) is mainly suitable for small to meduim services and spring has a much more complete ecosystem and better performance

You're right, Java is better than PHP, but PHP is cheaper than Java. I think PHP is good for a simple CMS or online store.
One programming language is not cheaper or more expensive than the other.
It may be worth to learn laravel only from technical standpoint, it may give you some slight technical experience that can be generalized and translated to other things. But from career standpoint, you'll have much better perspective and options with java+spring-boot. IMHO
